You do not do favour expecting more in return.
This verse commands that while giving help to those who deserve, it should be in mind that it is my duty and it is from Allah and that help should not be given expecting to get more from the recipient or to get praising of them, or should not to avoid giving help thinking that there is no chance for getting praising. The virtuous who is living here as Lord’s vicegerent by witnessing Him always will feed the indigents, needy and captives even though they are in need of it themselves, and while they give to them their attitude will be that “indeed we are feeding you from the part of Allah, and we don’t intend any gratitude or reciprocity from you” told in verses 76: 8-9. And it is told in verse 92: 71 that the most heedful will be abstained from the fire, the one who purified himself by giving his wealth, there will be no any favour from him to be given back to him as reciprocity, then he will become satisfied. See explanation 35: 29; 59: 9 and 64: 16.
